Focused Therapy Sessions
Empirically-Driven Treatment
Our providers are versatile to adapt to your child’s needs. We work primarily with children and their parents to support them from evidenced-based models. We use cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) called exposure and response prevention (ERP), which has the strongest evidence supporting its use in the treatment of OCD, habit disorders like tics, phobias, selective mutism, general anxiety, separation anxiety, and other related concerns.
Taylor Shirkey, LPA offers short-term counseling focused on celebrating your child’s unique strengths and neurodiversity. These sessions aim to provide empowering psychoeducation and practical tools to support your child in navigating everyday challenges.
Sarah Smead, LPA offers short-term counseling focused on further exploring neurodivergence as well as supporting anxiety concerns. She specializes in working with teens and adults (ages 15 and up). These sessions aim to provide space for this exploration as well as to provide tools for navigating stress points. She also specializes in supporting skills needed for transitioning to post-secondary education and college.
Therapy typically begins with a 90-minute intake session that involves both parents and children (For Taylor, if the child is 12 or older). Following the intake, 5 therapy sessions are provided, focusing on collaborative discussion and equipping parents with resources to support their child’s growth and development.
